Learning to listen to what my body really wants each day is providing an awesome channel for #art and #creativity in the kitchen. A little belated in posting, but I celebrated Earth Day early this year with an amazing #naturewalk in #stanleypark during my weekend getaway to #vancouverbc. We even found this family of baby ducks - and there is no better way to instantly drop in, feel connected, know we are all one and be fiercely compelled to protect our planet than by beholding these fuzzy-headed darlings. Let us never give up the fight to protect our world.

Sometimes, when we can really dial in, magic and childlike wonder can come from the simplest places - such as a piece of #glutenfree toast, topped with an #mctoil #friedegg with Caribbean seasoning, #avocado, lightly fried #walnuts, #harissa and #zaatar. Amazing. Beautiful. Simple. Like life itself, if we let go of resistance.
I used @mina spicy harissa, Caribbean spice mix from @world.spice and za'atar from my last visit to @ottolenghi in Spittalfields.

Apparently I hadn't had enough cheese after the big @gilbertscheeseexperience event last week, so I added some fried #paneer to this incredible #greenbeans and #carrot #curry from the wonderful #cookbook "A Feast of Serendib" by @maryannemohanraj. It was overkill - this dish is perfectly simple on its own - but you can't blame a cheesemonger-in-training for trying 😉

I'm overjoyed to announce the official launch of the #nextbigthing: @briangilbertccp and I are now up and running with Gilbert's Cheese Experience (@gilbertscheeseexperience)! We conduct full-sensory cheese pairings that connect consumers with the people who make the food and drinks they love. Our "traveling cheese roadshow" brings cheese to the site of the producers we're pairing with. Up first: beer and cheese, onsite at breweries. Tomorrow: the world.
We made our debut at the Firefly Kitchens Fermented Happy Hour - endless thanks to Julie of @fireflykitchensseattle for inviting us! We paired Beechers Sheep Sheep with Emerald City Kraut, amd represented our friends at @stoupbrewing pouring the Doppelbock and Pink Socks and Sandals NW Grisette!
