Welcome to my blog: Praise Seitan! Food, Beer & Travel From the Heart of Seattle. The primary mission of this blog is to reflect the love and passion I have for food, beer and global adventuring back with you, my dear readers. I want others to discover the dishes I love to cook, the brews I enjoy, the events I experience and the places that make my heart come alive—because, after all, life is for experiencing together.

I also want to show you that vegetarian cooking is anything but boring—and it's about more than just tofu (though I do love tofu). The way I do it, vegetarian food is bold, exciting and bursting with flavor in every bite. It's about seasonal produce from local sources; exotic, robust spices; the delicate interplay of textures and tastes; and, always, lots of fresh herbs. And, because I don’t know how to live any other way, I want to share about my personal struggles and how I am continually working to overcome them. I hope that by being open and honest, I can inspire others who are going through difficult times to persevere; to realize that they aren’t alone, and that light and life are just around the corner. 

As for me, I'm a writer and editor who has found her passion in the kitchen as well as behind the keyboard. I'm not only a wordsmith and an amateur chef, but also a kundalini yogi; a world traveler; an urban adventurer; a spiritual seeker; a lefty liberal; an animal lover and tree-hugger; and a lover of all the spice life has to bring.
